Designing a visual identity for Norway Says.
This identity is done in a very strict grid. Norway Says had an existing logo and visual identity for 3 years that we felt they needed to brake away from completely.
Whereas they’re previous logo was a standard typeface, we wanted them to have something more significant and substantial to be able to represent their accomplishments as product and furniture designers. The logo is inspired by strict Swiss typefaces, but is made more shapely to be in tone with the way they see furniture and products as tactile and user friendly.
Any additional elements had to be subtle yet distinct, and therefore a flower was used as an additional element throughout the profile. Having been made very abstract, the point is not for people to make out what it is, but merely recognize the beauty of the shapes in such a strict format. To accentuate this, we embedded these elements in all printed matter, and were extremely particular with the use of card and paper.
